We seek an experienced Azure Platform Engineer to join our dynamic managed platform services team. The ideal candidate will have at least 5 years of hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure and a strong background in cloud infrastructure, automation, and continuous integration/deployment. This role will be crucial in designing, implementing, and managing our Azure cloud environment, ensuring high availability, security, and performance of cloud-based applications and services.

- Design & Architecture:
- Design and implement scalable, secure, and resilient cloud solutions on Azure.
- Support cloud adoption of applications as they are being transformed and/or modernized
- Develop and maintain infrastructure as code (IaC) using tools like ARM templates, Terraform, or Bicep;
- Develop and maintain architecture diagrams and documentation for Azure environments.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into technical solutions
- Solid Networking and Compute experience.
- Experience with Distributed Systems and Design
- Experience with Container Platforms (AKS, Azure container solutions)
- Experience with Azure serverless offerings (Azure functions)
- Deployment & Management:
- Manage and monitor Azure resources and services, ensuring optimal performance and cost efficiency.
- Facilitating the migration of legacy systems to the Azure cloud platform
- Implement and manage continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines.
- Automate deployment processes using tools such as Azure DevOps, ARM templates, Terraform, or similar.
- Security & Compliance:
- Ensure cloud solutions comply with industry standards and regulations, including GDPR.
- Implement security best practices and manage access controls for Azure environments.
- Conduct regular security assessments and audits.
- Operations & Support:
- Provide 2nd and 3rd line support for Azure-related incidents and issues.
- Optimize and troubleshoot performance issues in the Azure environment.
- Maintain backup and disaster recovery plans for cloud infrastructure.
- Monitoring / Observability and Telemetry
- Experience with Alerting and Incident management tooling (Opsgenie, PagerDuty)
- Experience with Monitoring and telemetry tooling (ELK, Datadog , Grafana, Azure Monitor, Logs, Insights)
- FinOps and Cost management tooling and practises
- Continuous Improvement:
- Stay current with Azure developments and incorporate new features and technologies where appropriate.
- Provide training and mentorship to junior team members and other staff.
- Collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of cloud services with business processes
- Participate in an on-call rotation for after-hours support.
Jouw profiel
- Education:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Experience:
- At least 5 years of hands-on experience working with Microsoft Azure.
- Proven experience with cloud infrastructure, networking, and security.
- Strong background in automation and infrastructure as code (IaC).
- Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in scripting languages such as PowerShell, Python, or Bash, Golang.
- Experience with configuration management tools like Ansible, Chef, or Puppet.
- Familiarity with containerisation technologies like Docker and Kubernetes.
- Solid understanding of networking concepts, including VPN, VNet, and firewalls.
- CI/CD and Release Engineering tooling and practises
- Containerization and Orchestration
- SRE practises and principals
- Soft Skills:
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Certifications:
- AZ-305 certification would be advantageous.
- Language:
- Fluent in Dutch and English
